More Advanced age group, as players expansion and refinement of their technical base, must be the primary focus. As coaching 11v11 team play begins at the U/13 and U/16+ level and tactical, dimension adapt to the larger field size and increase numbers. Practice activities are geared towards improving decision making under pressure, while challenging players to solve small and large group problems quickly and collectively. As defenders becomes stronger, faster and more aggressive, attacking players will require sharper instincts for creating and using space, particularly when playing with their backs to goal. We look for players to be consistent with training.

Team Guidelines

Parents Information/ Team GuideLines:
As Parents are the biggest supporters we ask all Galaxy Parents to take time to read the following, studies show that a child’s perception of positive activity is a key factor in continued participating in youth sports.
  • Players are required to wear proper footwear for indoor/winter season and cleats for outdoor/summer season and shin pads. A safety check will be runned before each training.
  • Players attendance will be important to the players development, therefore he/she must not miss more than 5 training sessions in a month or the consequence will be losing their spot to new player needing to join the team, Unless a special reasoning has been given i.e illness/injury or family matters.
  • If Player withdraws from a season, player will lose their spot and registration will end. Player must be registered and season fee paid in full to guarantee their spot. A hold fee will be required if player misses a season due to reasoning.
  • lf player withdraw before the season starts 70% of the registration fee will be refunded.
  • No refund after season have started.
  • players will be required to be on time for training/games and must be respectful to all Galaxy Coaches and staffs as well as to other players or a consequence will be considered.
  • Players physical effort and focus must reflect a commitment to the program in order to learn and maintain skills and game play (depending on the age group level).
  • As Team Galaxy Prepare on participating in Tournament in Edmonton/Around Canada, we look forward to our players to be committed in order to build teams for such events. Tournament out of tournament will be in June and July and hope Parents/Players are excited for our players in participating.
  • Yk Galaxy may use photography/videos of players, example such purposes as publicity, illustration, advertising and web, email, or social media content. If parent does not approve any pictures/video Please email gjsoccyk@gmail.com
  • We ask all parents Not to sit on the bench with players during training or games. Only coaches are allowed to be on the bench with players.
Sideline Coaching – The sideline coach is a parent who actually Yells out complex instruction to the player. It’s Not a good idea, no matter how correct the comments are. A coach may have a plan or be working on specific tactics and it can be confusing for kids to hear two different things. The sideline coach needs to focus on encouragement and let the coach do his job.
Effort and Outcome – First focus on the success of an action and second on the effort, independent of the outcome.
  • Outcome- If a player does something well it’s important to tell him, It’s also important to acknowledge both the whole team and the individual player.
  • You can direct following comments to a Specific player or whole team etc great ball, nice play, good effort, well done, nice work
  • Effort- If a player tries to do something and it doesn’t work it’s a good idea to encourage him/her to keep trying. It tells him/her that the effort was important and he/her shouldn’t get discouraged etc nice try, good effort, good idea
